Looking back on my childhood, it seems I was destined for a career in home improvement. My parents grew up in a small, unincorporated Wisconsin town — the kind with three bars, two churches, and a strong sense of community. After my father returned from the Vietnam War, they moved to Madison, WI, in the early 1970s. Like many young families at the time, they tackled home projects out of necessity — not because they wanted to, but because they couldn't afford to hire help. Their strong work ethic, rooted in rural values, meant they did the work themselves. Naturally, I was right there beside them, “helping” in whatever way I could.
I spent 15 years working for Menards, moving 13 times across Wisconsin, Illinois, and eventually settling in Minnesota in 2004. That journey gave me a deep understanding of the industry and the communities we serve. When I got married and wanted to start a family, I realized the retail environment wasn't a sustainable fit for me. That’s when I transitioned into the contracting side of the business.
I began as a production manager for a local company, overseeing every aspect of exterior projects — from estimating materials and ordering supplies to coordinating crews, pulling permits, managing the installation for roofing, siding, windows, and door projects.
But, if you hadn't noticed by now, I’m not a sit-behind-the-desk kind of person. I thrive in the field, connecting with homeowners, hearing their stories, and helping them bring their vision to life. I am passionate about helping people and am all about breaking the mold and defying the negative stigma that sometimes surrounds our industry. Every day, I strive to raise the bar and redefine what it means to be a fair and reputable contractor in Minnesota.
With extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the insurance industry, I am very experienced in helping homeowners navigate the often complex and overwhelming process of filing and managing property insurance claims. From initial damage assessment to negotiating with insurance adjusters and ensuring proper documentation, I guide clients through each step with clarity and confidence. My goal is to advocate for homeowners’ rights and ensure they receive the fair settlement they deserve, while minimizing stress and delays throughout the claims process.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of assisting thousands of homeowners, guiding them through every step of their home improvement journey. As a homeowner, husband, and father, I deeply understand the challenges and considerations people face when considering and planning a project. We completed a major exterior remodel that included new siding with custom design elements, gable pediment build-outs, distinctive window trim, new garage and entry doors, a storm door, updated windows, stonework, a new deck, and the installation of 19 exterior recessed lights for enhanced curb appeal and functionality. I often use pictures of our home to showcase different ideas and options.
In many ways, I feel like I work in asset protection, and, in a sense, I do. My top priority is to design projects that protect homes from the elements. My second priority is making them beautiful. As we’ve all heard, “beauty is only skin deep” — but in home design, curb appeal matters, whether it’s your forever home or you're prepping to sell.
To help clients make confident decisions, I utilize advanced software to create detailed 3D renderings, bringing their ideas to life and streamlining the selection process. Additionally, I am well-versed in building materials that many insurance carriers recognize as being more resistant to hail, wind, and storm damage—often qualifying homeowners for discounts on their insurance premiums.
My background spans exterior design, all types of siding and roofing, windows, doors, stonework, garage doors, and more. I stay up to date on trends and pride myself on offering creative, custom solutions — not cookie-cutter templates. In fact, I often hear from clients that my ideas are unlike anything they’ve been offered elsewhere. My process is simple, casual, and conversational — making it easy, comfortable, and even fun.
When I’m not working—which can be challenging given the constant availability—I love spending time with my wife, Brooke, and our two daughters, Addie (12) and Ellie (7). I’m an avid sports fan and enjoy watching games or attending live sporting events. Growing up in Madison, WI, I became a passionate Green Bay Packers fan and am proud to be a season ticket holder. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, hockey, and pickleball, as well as fishing and other outdoor activities.
