Chris King has been around financial planning his entire life. Growing up, he watched his father build a 40-year career as a financial advisor and developed a natural curiosity about money, investing, and helping families plan for the future.
After earning his business degree from the University of St. Thomas, Chris began his career as a private banker at Wells Fargo, serving individuals and families with their banking and investment needs. He later moved to Chicago to work with one of the nation’s leading ETF providers, where he partnered with advisors to deliver market insights and portfolio guidance. Chris went on to lead the sales division of a portfolio risk management firm in Austin, Texas, before returning home to the Twin Cities to join Cedrus Wealth Group in the summer of 2025.
At Cedrus, Chris is passionate about building long-term relationships and helping clients grow, preserve, and steward their wealth with clarity and confidence. He combines deep investment knowledge with practical financial planning experience to provide guidance that is both strategic and personal.
Outside the office, Chris enjoys spending time with his 100-pound rescue dog, Jerro, golfing, playing hockey, and staying active. He has completed five half marathons, is training for his sixth, and is preparing for his first Hyrox competition in 2026. Chris has also found himself officiating numerous weddings, many of them for family and close friends.
